On February 7 (over one month ago), our little Melly turned 1/2 a year old . Half a year flew by right before our eyes! I wanted to do something special for her and write her just a sweet little letter.
<p>
<img src="http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff57/Reneenj/855a7b2a-8268-4efa-890d-9da13aeb8fdb_zps0bucjnsq.jpg"></img>

Dear Melanie,
<p>
My little precious love bug, you are officially over 1/2 a year old.
<p>
Every day you are getting more beautiful! Your pretty little eyes light up when you laugh, your little stubby toes curl in when you kick your feet, and your tiny dimple on your right cheek sparkles when you smile at daddy and me. You look like a baby Snow White. No joke! ("hair as black as ebony, lips as red as the rose, skin as white as snow") You have ivory skin, rosy red cheeks and a plump round face just like the princess! I can't believe how blessed I am to have such a gorgeous daughter! The doctor say's your height is at the 98th percentile line…um can I say future super model?!?
<p>
<img src="http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff57/Reneenj/1061958c-2ae3-43e8-84fb-b0258250b51e_zpsnuhjaqyq.jpg"></img>
<p>
Some little fire cracker you are. When you're mad, you have no problem letting us know. When you're happy, you also have no problem letting us know. And how do you let us know? A high pitch yell or scream. Screaming is your specialty right now. I think you like the way it sounds. You even like to yell in public. Yes I'm now one of those mothers..the mother who has a loud crying/screaming baby in the store. Oh well. You're totally worth it.
<p>
You're a strong baby. You sit up on your own. You can even stand up with some support. You also pick up anything and everything you can get your tiny hands on. On your lucky nights when you get to snuggle with mommy & daddy in the big bed, you like to pick up our pillows and toss them around. You wave your arms up and down and slap mommy in the face sometimes. It's funny and I laugh every time, but then I tell you "be careful, you hurt mommy" even though I know you didn't mean to.
<p>
Okay girlfriend, lets get down to the nitty gritty of this letter. I just love you so much. It's really true when they say a daughter is one of the most beautiful gifts this world has to give. I think this is true because a daughter can have a special bond with her mother unlike any other. A daughter can also have a special bond with her father, but with her mother it's very different. One of the best decision's I've ever made was to be a stay at home mommy. Being a stay at home mommy has allowed us to only grow even closer on many levels. When it comes to feeding you, bathing you, changing you, talking to you, singing to you, and playing with you, I just LOVE having that responsibility.
<p>
So here are a few things we do right now that you love (the reason I know you love these things is because you either smile or laugh…or you stop crying) :
<p>
1) You love to hear me sing. I sing every day in the house while completing daily chores or just hanging out with you while watching cartoons. You giggle and smile when I try to sing like i'm on American Idol. I think sometimes, does she know how horrible I sound? oh yes and you love Patty Cake. I can sing that all day for you.
<p>
3) You love looking at yourself in the mirror. I hold you in front of a big body mirror in our bathroom. Staring at yourself amazes you, I can tell.
<p>
4) Bath time! You really have a blast. I bought you a rubber ducky and you hold it the entire time i'm bathing you. I'm so happy you love the water.
<p>
I can probably list a few more other activities you love doing but those are the first that come to mind.
<p>
Things I can't wait to do with you as you get older? a few are playing dress up, painting each others nails, teaching you how to sew and write. I can't wait to do some of those things. It just gives brings me happiness thinking about it.
<p>
<img src="http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff57/Reneenj/0ba3ac54-2fa3-4f18-a4d3-674f882a7f3c_zpsx3t9vhg6.jpg"></img><p>
I have a confession. I kinda already dress you up like mommy. But seriously, how cute are our feet?!
<p>
So someday when you are old enough to read, I'll show you this letter and you'll laugh. So until then I'll love you more and more and give you 1000 kisses a day :)
<p>
Love your #1 & only Mommy,
<p>
Renée :)Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13529003433521717344noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2182407376572119657.post-90174417088831230582015-01-28T09:19:00.000-08:002015-01-28T09:20:45.675-08:00A Stroll With Miss Melanie <center>
Can you believe in just 10 days this little sweetness will be 1/2 a year old?! Where has the time gone? Okay before we know it she'll be starting Kindergarden (omg i'm gonna cry thinking about it!) I love her tiny and cute just like this! I force myself to soak <i>everything</i> in like the way her little hands feel in mine, the way she giggles and babbles after she eats, the way her tiny stubby toes look….I cannot forget any of it! =)
<p>
Lately she's been loving it when we stand her up. She know's she looks cute too because she starts to laugh when she's in this position. I'm not joking when I say my daughter has thighs stronger than yours. I hope they stay strong so she can be athletic like her mama someday.
<p>
I want to do something special for her 1/2 birthday coming up. I mean really 1/2 a year old birthday celebration? It's kind of a <b>BIG DEAL! </b> Bake her a cake, dress her up in a pretty dress, and put a princess crown on her! I can't wait =)

I have always dreamed of starting a business. Especially when it comes to fashion. And now that i'm a stay at home mama, I finally have the opportunity to take advantage of my time and make that dream come true. If you follow me on IG, you'll know i've added an profile "Mellyful" to display my work.
<p>
I'm so excited about the additional items I recently added to my Etsy Shop. Being a stay at home mama allows me lots of time to express my creativity in baby clothes. Since Melanie was born, I started this little hobby and decided to share my designs with everyone else. And although I haven't sold much, I still enjoy adding new pieces to my shop everyday. For now, i'm hand-making baby girl clothes sizes newborn to 24 months. Someday soon I hope to create baby boy clothes to my collection. Above is one of my favorite newer pieces i've created. Please feel free to check out my little shop and don't hesitate to reach out to me if you are interested in a custom piece. I love designing! =)

Something I love about my work: I wrap all my packages in colorful pretty paper. It makes a great gift!

<p>
This little darling just turned 5 months yesterday. Here are a few facts:
<p>
-She started teething one week ago. =( this is no fun. I didn't expect teething at 5 months. But it's normal for most babies. It's so hard seeing our baby cry for 30 minutes straight. We've bought her a few teething toys and Orajel Nighttime Teething Paid relief. So far it's only helped slightly. Looking at her gums, I expect two tiny teeth on top by next week…until then, I hope my baby doesn't experience much more discomfort.
<p>
-I introduced rice cereal to her. This is fun =) For her first feeding, I mixed 1 tablespoon of the rice cereal and 3 tablespoons of my breast milk. The rice cereal I'm trying is <a href="http://www.earthsbest.com/products/product/2392390001"> Earthsbest Whole Grain Rice Cereal </a>. It contains no harmful pesticides or herbicides. Because of it's reviews and ratings, I'm confident this is a safe cereal for infants. So far, she is a fan. I nurse her before feeding her the cereal (that way she'll be a in a happy mood) and she likes it! She is slowly learning how to eat from a spoon. Can't wait to start feeding her more baby food!
<p>
-She giggles more. Her giggles make me giggle. I give her kisses on her neck just to hear the tiny laughs.
<p>
-She must weigh 15-16 pounds now. She's a healthy strong baby girl =)
<p>
-Clothing size: 6-9 months
<p>
-She only wakes up once throughout the night. Sometimes, she goes the entire night (8 hours).
<p>
-Her grips are stronger than ever. She holds her own bottle with no help from mommy & daddy.
<p>
-She can now turn over from back to tummy.
<p>

<p>
A goal without a plan is just a <i>wish</i>. So many of us make goals for the New Year. Sometimes we accomplish them, forget about them, or just never complete them.
<p>
Planning out your goals are simple..just write them down :) (However taking action on them is another story..) So I'd thought I'd share my monthly goals for the year to organize. One of my new years resolution's is taking time to <b>organize</b>. <i>So here it goes:</i> Might even help some other Mommy's out there!
<p>
</center>
<p>
<p>
January:
<br> Introduce solids to Melly. Melanie has reached many milestones in such a short amount of time…Based on her stage of milestones, she is ready for rice cereal! She tasted it with her tongue for the first time yesterday. I think she was confused because all it did was drip from her mouth down her tiny chin haha.. It's gonna take time I know…
<p>
February:
<br>Baby proof the house. By this month, Melanie will be 6 months. She might even start crawling for all I know! (that would be like wow but I highly doubt it) This also means she'll be more curious about where she lives and the things she touches. It's safer to baby proof sooner than waiting till the last minute.
<p>
March:
<br>Begin Wedding Planning…Choose bridesmaid dresses….Book a photographer….Research Florist….choose a dress design for Melanie (The little flower girl). This will be exciting! I'm dedicating this entire month to our wedding (being held in September 2015) um can we say finally!?! :D
<p>
April:
<br> Health & Exercise? Well the weather should be warmer by this month, which means Melly and me can join my fiancé when he goes for his morning walks with our Husky. Summer will be near and so will the wedding…Health & Exercise will be a priority.
<p>
May:
<br>Focus on Melanie's brain power :) She'll be nine months by this month…OMG…which means only 3 months away from one years old! By this month i'll be reading more to her than ever. This will encourage her to learn more. She already loves books and Mommy reading to her. I know she'll be a smarter baby at this stage.
<p>
June:
<br> Prepare for Melanie's One Year Birthday Party (Will be held in August)! Just 2 months away from the big O-N-E. A small gathering with close friends and family will do. But this is huge. Gotta plan something wonderful for our tiny princess <3
<p>
July:
<br>Can I have one month to relax? soak in the upcoming events to come!
<p>
August:
<br>Take one year photos of Melanie and celebrate her first birthday!
<p>
September:
<br>Say "I Do"… Have our wedding! I've been waiting for this day! I can't wait to see how handsome my finance will look in a suit and how beautiful Melanie will look in her little flower girl dress.
<p>
October:
<br>Honeymoon. Monterey? Napa? Disneyland? Somewhere local will do :) just as long as it consist of wine and good food.
<p>
November:
<br>Become a teacher for Melanie. I know i've mentioned brain power but by this time little Melanie will be 15 months which means she'll be a toddler..time to start doing big girl things…color and draw, change her own clothes, and picking up her toys.
<p>
December:
<br> Surprise! we're pregnant! The color Blue perhaps? haha..we'll have to wait and see :)
<p>

Only 9 more days till Christmas! Is it just me, or does December go by too quick? I was lucky enough to finish preparing my Holiday Cards yesterday just in time for family & friends to get before the 25th! The plan was to get them out by December 1st, but I've been so busy lately! Well better late than never right?
<p>
While out & about yesterday, I wore this outfit. It was a perfect rainy day to sport my orange/red Hunter boots. I kept warm layering up in multiple socks and tops. I love layering, keeps me so warm! The good thing is Jason was able to watch little Melly cozy at home while I was out in the cold. I hate bringing my little baby out into the cold weather.

<img src="http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff57/Reneenj/cb6f69f7-d5e3-4d23-a8e6-c8cf4b1d1a5c_zpsd402d481.jpg">
<p>
<p>
Establishing a daily routine for your baby is important because an organized schedule keeps your baby <b>happy</b> and the hard working mama <b> happy</b> as well. When we first brought Melanie home from the hospital, I was overwhelmed with all the needs for her that things became a little chaotic. I found myself pumping and nursing all random hours of the day, Melly was falling asleep at different odd times, and I would squeeze in cat naps for myself whenever it was possible. It was even difficult fitting in my normal daily routines such as house work and sewing. I was <i>exhausted</i>. After the first month past, I felt like nothing was getting any better….
<p>
When Melanie turned 3 months, I finally established a set schedule that worked well for her and me. Here is what I did (time's are approximate, never exact)
<p>
7-8 AM: Wake up. If Melly was still sleeping, I decided to enjoy my mornings with a cup of joe, turn on the TV, and browse through social media for a bit.
<br>
8-9 AM: Melanie wakes up. Time to change, feed, and change diaper.
<br>
9-10 AM: Breakfast/Kitchen time! I love this time of day because I get to get things done in the kitchen and talk to my baby at the same time! She'll sit in her Rock N Play and smile as I talk to her about cleaning the dishes or preparing food. She starts to laugh and baby babble back at me. I love it!
<br>
10-11 AM: Cartoon time. I put on disney Jr and talk to her about what's on TV. She of course becomes amazed by the sights and sounds of cartoons like "Sofia the First" and "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse".
<br>
11-1 PM: Nap Time. She normally will fall asleep while watching cartoons. Once she's asleep I turn off the TV and let her sleep for about an hour or so. During this time I take time to study for school or read.
<br>
1-2 PM: Feeding time again. After she eats, she is in a happy playful mood. I like to go in her nursery and show her around the colorful pink room. I like to call this time "Play Time"
<br>
2-3 PM: Sewing. I love taking some time out of my day for myself. Whatever your hobby is, I encourage you fit it in your daily baby routine. I normally bring Melly in my sewing room with me and have her on the floor with her toys. I put on music and sing to her as i'm sewing away. I still can complete my sewing and make her feel happy at the same time.
<br>
3-4 PM: Rest. Take time to rest. Sit on the couch, put your feet up, drink some water and just rest! I used to forget to do this. Now I make a point to clear my mind and rest it for about one hour. Have your baby in your arms. It's great bonding time.
<br>
4-5 PM: Place your baby in their swing or rocker again and try to Clean up (if you can). Do whatever housework you can do. Throw a load of clothes in the washer, sweep, clean the mirrors. Don't do it all. Just whatever you can fit in that little hour. Sometimes she'll take another cat nap while i'm cleaning too. It's nice when that happens.
<br>
5-7 PM: Dinner time, bath-time, shower time. I don't give Melly a bath every night, but when I do, it's around this time. This is also the time I take a shower as well. I like to have our shower, dinner, and bath all done by 8 PM.
<br>
8-9 PM: Bed Time & Reading time. We lay in bed and I read a few books to her. I let her hold the books (until she starts to put them in her mouth lol) but she enjoys it.
<br>
10 PM: LIGHTS OUT!
<p>
Well there you a go. A short look at our daily routine. I'm fortunate to be a stay at home mom during her first year of life. I can't imagine leaving her for work everyday but I know there are truly wonderful mom's who do and work extra hard for their baby.

<p>
Yesterday we spent our afternoon at Dave's Pumpkin Patch. Although Melanie is too young to understand what a pumpkin patch even is, the thought of us going together as a family just sounded sweet. The day was bright, the weather was lovely, and the pumpkins were happy! And so were we as we walked around and enjoyed the atmosphere of pumpkins, haystacks, chickens, ponies, goats, and pigs. We were even lucky enough to run into a professional photographer who offered to take a family photo of us three. I love my <i>family</i>.

"<i>Where's my Mickey?"</i> Minnie Melly happily smiled and posed for the camera as I took her first Halloween photos. She laid there for about 3-5 minutes gazing at me. Suddenly, the sweetheart started kicking her chubby cute legs like crazy. The little darling kicked so hard, she knocked one of her little shoes off!
<p>
With the help of many great sewing blogs, I was able to sew together her first halloween costume. I used white knit fabric for the onesie along with red & white polka dot printed fabric for her skirt, sleeves, and trimming of her onesie. I struggled with the puffed sleeves but somehow managed to make it work. Melly and I were so happy with the results! Can't you tell?!

<p>
I am so happy to finally be sharing photo's of Melanie's Nursery. And of course so much has happened since my last post in July. Melanie Renée was born on August 7th, 2014 weighing 6 pounds 4 ounces and 18 1/2 inches long. She arrived at 4:02 pm. And then, my life was <i>complete</i>. So now she is here in this world, growing, learning, developing, and receiving so much LOVE from her family. We absolutely <b>LOVE</b> her!
<p>
<center>
<p>
<img src="http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff57/Reneenj/8c664ba3-f9e1-419d-95e4-67503476089a_zpsd7d74538.jpg" />
<p>
Our little "Melly" (what we nicknamed her) at 4 weeks old. So cute right?!?
<br />
<p>
Melanie has inspired me so much since the day I found out I was pregnant. Since my pregnancy and her birth, I have been avidly sewing baby clothes, taking photo's with my new Nikon, and learning to be the best mom I can possibly be. And <i>now</i> I have also been inspired to change the content of my blog to a more "lifestyle" way of living the <b>mommy life</b>. To transition, I've decided to rename the blog <i>"The Mommy in P I N K." </i> I can now express the new mommy in me and continue blogging about my love for fashion but also my passion for sewing & designing.
<br />
<p>
Now, with that said, I am gladly to be sharing special pieces of my daughters room. My photography skills are not near perfect but I truly <i>try</i>. And not to mention, it was a lot of fun getting down on my knees and tummy taking photos from various angles of her room. Every piece in her room is special in it's own way. And I hope someday when she is older, she can look back on these photos and appreciate the fact that I've displayed what was really special to me when she was born.
<p>
<br />

<br />
<p>
I purchased this custom banner on ETSY before she was born. It was used as a photo prop for my maternity photo's and her baby shower.

<br /><p>
I wanted to be crafty and make her wall art while I was pregnant. Believe it or not, I purchased these frames from the dollar tree and spray painted them gold! (haha) I purchased the printed paper at Michaels art's and craft. The gold heart was thick cardstock paper also purchased from Michael's and spray painted gold. And here was the end result.
<br />

<br />
<p>
I purchased this little newborn dress at Target. She wore it in some photos I took with my Nikon. Now it's just so tiny you can't help but say "awww" when you see it on a hanger.

A recent headband I made for little Melly. I've been making tons of these. Really easy and cute.

First pair of baby Moccs! Had to get them in Gold of course.

<br />
<p>
My Mom bought this precious moments Noah's Ark figurine set. It's so precious and sweet. It lights up like a night light. It's perfect for the nursery.
<br />
<p>

<br />
<p>
I made these table center pieces for Melanie's Baby Shower. I had to save one for her room.
<br />
<p>

<p>
Another piece from her Baby Shower. I filled up small mason jars with pink jelly beans as a favor for my guest. They loved it especially the kiddos who came.

<br />
<p>
The Giraffe! This was the first item that was purchased for her nursery. My mom bought it for Melanie when I was only 14 weeks pregnant. It was a mystery then if I was having a boy or a girl.
<br />
<p>
<img src="http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff57/Reneenj/f854f3a7-3254-4b77-a081-274940af6ea9_zps568b89c4.jpg" />
<br />
<p>
When Melanie was born, I was told I had to stay in the for hospital 3 days since I developed a fever during her birth. My parents bought this pink bunny with balloons for me and Melanie. The bunny makes jingle sounds if you shake it.
<br />
<p>
<img src="http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff57/Reneenj/7e0dd202-194a-4ae3-990b-3f9f711269e2_zpsa478573a.jpg" /><br />
<p>
Jason's Aunt sent us Winnie the Pooh about one month after Melanie was born. Who doesn't love Pooh bear? He's adorable.
<br />
<p>
<img src="http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff57/Reneenj/d359ac55-836a-41b6-a671-14185eaa9c2e_zpsf69af2c2.jpg" />

<br />
<p>
This is probably the most important item to me in her nursery. I filled the shadow box with Melanie's newborn beanie's, blood pressure cuff, wrist bands from the hospital, and foot print's from the day she was born. When I gave birth to Melanie, it was the most exciting, happiest, stressful, and painful experience I ever went through in my <b>life</b> (YES all that at once!). However when the birthing experience was over, I was so complete. I had to save everything from that day so I can truly remember what I went through for my beautiful baby girl.
<br />
<p>

<br />
<p>
<center>
I used this little teddy bear as a prop in my maternity photos.

<br />
<p>
My mom picked out this cake topper for my baby shower cake. The baby was handmade and it looks just like our Melly.
<br />
<p>

<br />
<p>
A glimpse of her closet. I hang up all her bigger clothes and fold her wearable clothes for now.
<br />
<p>

<br />
<p>
A handmade shabby chic banner I made. I used gold glitter yarn for gold accents. Those are also handmade gold fabric roses.
<br />
<p>

<br />
<p>
The crib was a gift from Jason's parents. I purchased the wooden "M" from Hobby Lobby and spray painted it gold as well. The antique white frame the "M" is in was purchased from a boutique in Auburn California.
<br />
<p>

<br />
<p>
This rocking chair is perfect for those sleep less nights. I've sat in this chair and sang "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" to her in a slow tune and she has fallen asleep. But once I've got up from the chair, she opened her eyes…Awake! Not sleeping lol those were challenging nights I tell you.
<br />
<p>

<br />
<p>
And finally a last look at her custom burlap banner over the closet

<img src="http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff57/Reneenj/94a574e0-32be-4c05-90af-2d9737ff3ae4_zps67a8d150.jpg"></img>
<p>
Hello Everyone! It feels like it's been a decade since i've last made a blog post (ok it's been about 4 months) but it sure has been too long. The truth is i've been enjoying my pregnancy way too much! I've been motivated to express my creative side such as sewing and DIY projects. I've made my baby girl 2 receiving blankets, a dress, and multiple fabric flower headbands. I've also been helping my fiancé paint the nursery (I will try to post something soon about the details!) but we've been having so much fun planning for our little baby soon to come!
<p>
I wanted to share this simple DIY project I've done recently. I recently came across a baby mitten pattern on <a href="http://www.homesweethomebodies.net/2010/05/infant-scratch-mittens-tutorial-and.html#axzz36jUWOAet"> Home Sweet Homebodies </a>. This is such an easy project for a beginner sewer (especially like myself) or any mommy to be. It's even great to make baby mittens as a little gift for something who might be expecting. Hope you enjoy it!
<p>
Materials:
<br>
Fabric of your choice (I used flannel since it's soft and comfy for a baby)
<br>
Fabric Scissors
<br>
Basic Sewing Machine
<br>
Elastic (less than 1 cm wide)
<br>
Ribbon (optional)
<p>
Step 1:
<p>
Cut out your fabric from pattern. I folded my fabric first so that way it's one entire piece for both sides of the mitten.
<p>
<img src="http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff57/Reneenj/9915eb2b-697c-4025-b4e3-b352f4b2c5ad_zps4ac46c19.jpg"></img>
<p>
<img src="http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff57/Reneenj/a27f7aeb-9a51-4f32-88e6-8b4ec26c718f_zpsdf465d90.jpg"></img>
<p>
Step 2:
<br>
On the bottom of the mittens (where the wrist will be) fold and pin about 1/2 inch wide enough for the elastic to fit through.
<p>
<img src="http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff57/Reneenj/62989544-169f-4f09-9483-cdb25f903eb8_zps7a9d568e.jpg"></img>
<p>
Step 3:
<br>
Stitch a straight line with your sewing machine all the way down but at the end leave about less than 1/2 inch un-sewn
<p>
<img src="http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff57/Reneenj/abddd6c2-7be1-4bd7-b6b5-24f979c87ff1_zps7c1f0537.jpg"></img>
<p>
Fold them together and they should look like this…
<p>
<img src="http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff57/Reneenj/615c6ec6-6822-4614-bde1-73a9f9b13144_zpsd4f54465.jpg"></img>
<p>
Step 4:
<br>
Pin both sides together and stitch carefully and neatly around curved edge of pattern. You shouldn't to stitch all around (not the folded part).
<p>
<img src="http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff57/Reneenj/037296a4-86b3-4a87-8a4e-0900fb6793a2_zps4216ac97.jpg"></img>
<p>
Once completed, turn them inside out and they should look like this…..
<p>
<img src="http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff57/Reneenj/6bd0732f-925e-4ec2-9a80-aa8c932fdfee_zps71086d9b.jpg"></img>
<p>
Step 5:
<br>
Using a small safety pin, pin the end of the elastic and run elastic through the opening of the wrist….
<img src="http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff57/Reneenj/b9b3c1b5-d66f-4e7a-81ba-6ca005f8a830_zps32b44971.jpg"></img>
<p>
Decide how big you want your wrist area to be (remember don't make it too small, don't want it to be too tight around the baby's wrist)
<p>
<img src="http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff57/Reneenj/f047dc53-9773-46dc-9d87-a77c215a6d8f_zpsbb175bd8.jpg"></img>
<p>
Step 6:
<br>
Once you've determined how big you want your wrist, take it to the sewing machine and stitch a small straight line over the elastic (make sure you've turned the mitten inside out with wrong side of the pattern facing you).
<p>
<img src="http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff57/Reneenj/0a80527b-226d-45c5-88e6-55c9d0553eec_zpsdee8f103.jpg"></img>
<p>
Cut off any excess elastic sticking out…
<p>
<img src="http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff57/Reneenj/33f32ed7-6430-4656-b314-f6d4812f09fe_zps42600cdb.jpg"></img>
<p>
Turn it inside out so the good side is showing and it should look like this….
<p>
<img src="http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff57/Reneenj/564ff84a-35e2-4593-a612-40e6e9981431_zpsdca1c81e.jpg"></img>
<p>
You can keep it as is or add a little ribbon like I did. I just simply hand stitched it to the mitten. Now you got yourself a pair of adorable baby mittens!
<p>

Update on my Fashion Life: I've been enjoying this summer with no school! It feels so great not having to worry about completing a paper or project but I'm definitely not giving up on school since i'm pregnant. However I have been extremely careful about my spending habits the last 5 months. Which means less shopping for clothes! With our little girl on the way, I've been motivated to spend my money on her. So i'm even thinking about changing the name of my blog….maybe to something more motherly…what do you think?
<p>
Baby Bump Update!

<p>
<b>How Far Along: </b> 32 Weeks and 2 Days
<p>
<b>Weight Gain: </b> 2 Pounds in the past two week. I'm a total of 132 lbs (Note: Before I found out I was pregnant I weighed 114 so i've gained a total of 18 pounds!
<p>
<b>Maternity clothes: </b> Maxi dresses & maxi skirts! With the heat so awful in Northern California, I often wear my stretchy tanks. Really no need to the spend a ton of money on maternity clothes. I think i've only purchased one pair of maternity leggings and blouse since i've started outgrowing my button up pants. Other than that, I still fit in a small maxi dress and small maxi skirt.
<p>
<b>Stretch marks:</b> NONE! I'm so lucky :) However I have been rubbing lotion on my belly daily. I use Mama Bee Belly Butter by Burts Bee's. Works fine for me!
<p>
<b>Sleep:</b> Baby Melanie moves the most around midnight and 2 AM. I try to ignore it but sometimes it's a little hard for me to sleep feeling her move. Then sleeping on my sides sometimes makes my side hips sore. Then I have to get up and pee every 2 hours it seems like lol It's getting more and more uncomfortable to sleep (especially in the past 3 weeks).
<p>
<b>Best moment this week:</b> Getting her car seat! Purchased her a Maxi Cosi AP in the color "Precious Pink" from Nordstrom. It's been rated one of the safest car seats for infants. I posted it on my Instagram. I just love it!
<p>
<b>Miss anything?</b> WINE
<p>
<b>Movement:</b> She wiggles, she turns, and she still kicks her little feet. Now I feel one of her foots under my right rib now and then. And it hurts sometimes!
<p>
<b>Food cravings: </b> Ice Cream like crazy!
<p>
I hope to blog more about my projects and pregnancy in the posts to come. Stay tuned and Have a wonderful Monday!

Spring is officially here! The pretty floral trend is back again this year! This girly look is perfect for maternity fashion (or even if you're not pregnant). Lately i've been wearing a ton of maxi dresses and maxi skirts since my belly has been growing. Plus they are so comfty and soft. And remember, pregnant girls can wear floral crop tops too.
<p>
I'm also 17 weeks and 5 days! We have our first ultra sound appointment in less than two weeks. We get to find out the gender of our little miracle Finally! So is baby Norman a girl or boy? To be honest I really don't mind what we are having. I only pray for a healthy baby. Jason is really hoping it's a boy haha. Plus i'm dying to find out because I want to start buying clothes for him or her. Every time I pass through the baby section of a store, I always stare at the clothes picking out what outfits I want my baby to wear. Then I think, "wait, you don't know if you're have a boy or girl!" lol

<p>
It's been way too long since i've posted on my little blog! I tell you, mid-terms, work, and news of a baby on a way has really occupied my time recently. Yes you read right, news of a baby on the way! Jason and I were so excited to find out this wonderful news on Valentine's Day. <i>What a surprise! </i> However we are overly<b> filled with Joy</b>! We are so blessed to have this miracle happen!
<p>
So luckily I've had a good pregnancy so far. I completed my first Trimester a few weeks ago and only experienced occasional nausea and small headaches. Now in Trimester 2, luckily the nausea has laid a low profile. The only symptom I feel is occasional sleepiness. Nap's have never felt so great! With only those few uncomfortable symptoms, I can honestly say I really enjoy being pregnant! =)
<p>
I am 14 weeks and 5 days pregnant (too soon to find out with the gender of the baby is). My instinct tells me i'm having a boy! but we won't find out till the ultrasound (so exciting I can't wait!).
<br>
A few weeks ago Jason and I heard our baby's heartbeat for the first time at our first doctor visit! It was amazing hearing the little beat! Jason recorded the beating sound and I have listened to it over and over since the visit. I'm just so happy when I hear it!
<p>
<iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/CfifJozeboE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
<p>
It's not so clear in the beginning but if you listen closely after 10 seconds you hear it! It's so magical :)
<p>
I've decided to keep track of my baby bump progress for the weeks to come. My bump is small but I definitely feel the inches growing! Sometimes I think I feel "flutters" from the baby but i'm not sure if i'm feeling it. lol I guess i'll know for sure in the weeks to come.
<br>
<p>
I haven't purchased any maternity clothes because it's too soon. Plus I can still fit in most of my clothes (but not my jeans!) I'll be much bigger in the summer so I'll be wearing lot's of Maxi dresses to stay comfortable!
<p>
Countdown:
<br>
25 Weeks, 2 Days
<p>
Due Date:
<br>
September 3, 2014

Cupid is around the corner and the smell of love will soon be in the air. Yes it's that time of the year, Valentine's Day. Our national lover's holiday! Have you prepared your outfit for your night or day out? Or has it not crossed your mind? Whether I go out to dinner with my fiancé or just a day out with a girlfriend, one of my favorite things to do is dress up on Valentine's Day. I'm excited to share that I've found my V-Day Outfit. The track pants are two toned (black and pale pink) and they even have elastic on the waist for comfort. I'm excited to see what everyone else has in mind for V-Day this year! I know it's still over one week away but it's never too early to start your outfit planning!

<b>Happy One Year Anniversary to my blog, Miss Renaaye, Let's Talk Fashion!
</b>
<p>
In honor of my one year anniversary of "Let's Talk Fashion", I thought it would be perfect to have an outfit photo shoot session with a local photographer. I'm very fortunate to have found a talented photographer who is able to express my style in her work. I had the pleasure of working with <a href="http://danagualcophotography.blogspot.com"> Dana </a> last week. <a href="http://danagualcophotography.blogspot.com"> Dana </a> works with many different clients such as weddings, engagements, baby photos, etc. Please check out her blog which includes her beautiful work!
<p>
With spring just around the corner, I wanted to incorporate some spring colors. I found this amazing mint cross body handbag at target. It is extremely practical for someone on the go like myself. It is perfect for fitting my lipstick, small wallet and iPhone. In addition, my ankle jeans are my new favorite! They are comfortable and fit a little loose on me (which allows more comfort!). The bleached design on the denim reminds me of <i>"hello spring."<b></b></i> To dress up the outfit a bit, I wore the one and only cute Ravesh Pumps by Steve Madden. These heels are a great signature piece to complete this outfit.

<center>
<p>
Hello Everyone! 2014 is here and it's time for new spring trends and style! Lately i've been so busy with my life I've had not had <b>any<i></i></b> time to post any daily outfits. However I do have some <b>good news</b>. I have landed a NEW job! I'm so excited to say I've been offered a job in the industry of fashion! Not to mention i'll be starting school again the end of this month! So many exciting things are happening for me and I feel so blessed. So since I have not had time to post any daily outfits, i've decided to do a little research on new 2014 trends! I'm so thrilled the new trends consist of many items we may have in our fall and 2013 wardrobe. My favorite trend this upcoming spring season is pretty pastel! Chic with shades of soft rainbow colors will soon be new arrivals at your favorite department stores. I'm really loving the pastel blazers! They are great to pair with jeans and really anything!

It's a new year with a new year! What are your new year's resolution? Lately i've been determined to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I just competed my 3 day Dr. Oz Detox. I'm so proud of myself for not eating any solid foods for 3 days. This detox is probably the most challenging cleanse I have ever done! I did experience some symptoms such as feeling ill and tired. But according to the facts, these symptoms indicate that the bad toxins are eliminating from my body. So every time I felt uncomfortable, I just reminded myself, "The toxins are leaving your body!" and I eventually felt better. I challenge you to try it! I feel great and most likely will do this same cleanse again in 3-6 months.

Yes! I drank nothing but 3 juices a day for 3 days in a row! Not easy when you experience chocolate withdrawals! haha

Tulle is so pretty and perfect for any holiday party you plan to attend. Check out the two different ways we styled our fun tulle skirts! Amy is looking very stunning in her white tulle shirt. I love the color combinations she uses with her outfit. Let's talk about her top! GORGEOUS. My favorite piece of her outfit is her top. Super cute with the white embellished collar! I'm loving it! Amy is literally walking in a winter wonderland in all that beautiful white snow. Please stop by her bloggy <a href="http://classyinaclassroom.blogspot.com"> here </a> and check out more details about her outfit. Looking beautiful Amy!
<p>
Again Tulle is lovely and can be styled great for classy events. And trust me, you will feel like a princess walking around in your tulle ;) I styled mine with a red plaid top and my new favorite statement necklace from BrinaBox. I love my tulle skirt and cannot wait to wear it again! Happy Holiday's my friends and have fun styling your holiday outfits!

<i>"Jingle Bell Jingle Bell Jingle Bell Rock"</i>...It's that time of the year again! Oh yes the smell of Cinnamon pine cones, Holiday sugar cookies, and Green Christmas tree's, yes I love it all! I am definitely in the holiday spirit this year =) I even caught my fiancé in the act....putting up the colorful lights outside our home (he did such a great job!)
<p>
With Black Friday over and done with, I managed to grab myself an early Christmas gift: a $48 Brother Sewing Machine at Wal-Mart. I've only sewn a few times in my lifetime but decided to challenge myself and take it a bit deeper. After all, I will be enrolled in 3 Fashion courses next semester at CSUS, I might as well practice this skill now. I'll be starting my first project in a few days. Wish me luck since I need it! Haha
<p>
<b>Black Friday Deals on Apparel:<i></i></b> The only retail store I managed to stop by (besides Wal-Mart for my sewing machine) was Old Navy. Everything was 40% off..Not bad. Grabbed a few Plaid tops, including this Chambray Top I'm wearing in this post. A few days before Thanksgiving I was lucky and spotted these Steve Madden Riding boots for only $25 dollars at Goodwill..Not bad!

Good Morning! Today I'm so excited because I am teaming up my <b>sweet</b> friend Amy from <a href="http://classyinaclassroom.blogspot.com">Classy In The Classroom</a> to show you two different ways to style your Dot's and Plaid. I'm happy to be collaborating with sweet <a href="http://classyinaclassroom.blogspot.com">Amy</a> because ever since I entered the blogging world, <b>Amy's<i></i></b> cute & trendy style has always inspired me. It's so classic and adorable how Amy styled her red plaid underneath the bold polka dot sweater. In addition, she add's an extra trendy & chic look with the faux fur vest and Pearl Necklace.. She looks perfectly put together! I'm <i>really</i> obsessed with her outfit!

<a href="http://classyinaclassroom.blogspot.com">Amy</a> is a teacher and shows her readers how to dress classy but still trendy in the classroom. I adore her looks and <i>highly</i> recommend you check out her blog (you won't be disappointed!). She knows how to shop on a budget and will tell you where to get the deals! Please don't forget to stop by her cute blog <a href="http://classyinaclassroom.blogspot.com">here!</a>

Details of my outfit: Dot's and Plaid go hand in hand together. I Saw this plaid scarf at Old Navy in four different colors. I could not resist the color. Apparently I love the color blue and anything that stands out haha. The colored leggings are a little fearless but go great with the scarf. This is a great outfit to wear for a office job or semi-casual party.

Yesterday I spent my day in orientation at Sacramento State University. It was so exciting learning about the classes I will be taking in the Spring..ALL FASHION CLASSES! I can't wait to finally express my passion in school and learn deeper about the art of fashion. <i> I can't wait!
